A prominent school district is seeking a Fleet/Mechanic Supervisor to manage the maintenance of all district-owned vehicles. The ideal candidate will oversee vehicle maintenance operations, develop training for maintenance staff, and ensure compliance with district policies, while holding relevant qualifications and certifications.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Manage and supervise the vehicle maintenance program of all district-owned vehicles.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and evaluate mechanics, helpers, and other personnel in the maintenance program.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Personal computer, office supplies, hand tools, hydraulic jacks, electric drills, grinders, air tools, hand trucks, forklifts, hydraulic lift gates, high-pressure washers, ladders, motor vehicles including school buses, two-way radios.

Effective communication (written and verbal), concentration, reasoning, reading, instructing, emotional control in stressful situations.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Ability to conduct on-site inspections, drive, walk, lift under 50 lbs., work indoors and outdoors, tolerate temperature and humidity extremes, noise, slippery surfaces, sunlight, work with water and cleaning products, work around vehicles, wear safety gear, and work around moving objects.
