Job summary

Winter Services is seeking a full-time, year-round Fleet Mechanic in Wisconsin to inspect and repair our fleet, including trucks and heavy equipment. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs to keep equipment ready for winter operations.

Candidates should have strong problem-solving skills, a solid background in brakes, suspensions, and emissions, and be able to handle long shifts during snow season. ASE certs are a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of brakes, suspension, exhaust and emissions systems.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to fabricate light metal components and perform preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintains vehicles and equipment including trucks and heavy gear.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance (oil changes, tunes).
• Runs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.
• Identifies mechanical problems and faults.
• Inspects critical parts using checklists.
• Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts (brakes, belts, water pumps, transmissions).
• Plans repairs and maintenance timelines; visits job sites to inspect vehicles.
