Job Summary

The Fleet Mechanic / Oil & Lube Technician is responsible for keeping all vehicles in the fleet roadworthy and ready for service when needed.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and repair work on Heavy Duty Fleet equipment, including semi trucks and trailers.
• Reviews driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIR).
• Familiar with and observes all safety rules and regulations; attends safety meetings regularly.
• Has a good understanding of hydraulic systems.
• Sweeps, cleans, and organizes the shop using 5S principles.
• May be required to answer roadside calls for disabled vehicles.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of experience with Heavy Duty Semi Trucks or Trailers, including brakes, wheel seals, S Cams, Slack Adjusters, grease, and oil changes.
• Minimum 2 years of electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Owns necessary tools.
• At least 1 year of welding/metal fabrication experience.
• Must pass MVR and background checks.

Qualifications

• CDL A or B license.
• Excellent attendance record.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequently sit for extended periods.
• Occasionally walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Regularly reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

• Work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions, including wet, rainy, hot, and cold environments.
