Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair diesel engines, mixer trucks, and other heavy equipment. You will perform scheduled maintenance, diagnose issues, and work with the operations team to minimize downtime, ensuring safe and reliable fleet operation.

Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply, with on‑the‑job training provided. A strong focus on safety, teamwork, and quality repairs is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical certification in diesel engine repair is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment, including oil changes, lubrications, and filter replacements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in mixer trucks, loaders, dump trucks, tankers, and other heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Rebuild, replace, or repair major components such as engine heads, blocks, starters, and transmissions.
• Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and repairs, minimizing downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures in the workshop and on job sites.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work using company systems.
• Stay updated on the latest diesel engine technology and repair techniques through ongoing learning.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, fleet mechanic, or heavy equipment technician is a plus.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems is preferred.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment; willingness to learn new technologies.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety standards and protocols.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical certification in diesel engine repair is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL is preferred.
• Willingness to complete SRM’s pre‑employment screenings.
