Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a Fleet Mechanic Lead for a temporary assignment. Under limited supervision, you will coordinate movement of materials, supervise daily work, and ensure records are maintained.

You may travel to worksites to repair mobile equipment and perform maintenance on forklifts, carts, and trucks. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs solo and 80 lbs with assistance, operate shop equipment, read manuals, and comply with safety procedures.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 certification required.
• Manufacturer certifications for specific make/models preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret operating manuals and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on automotive and light-duty equipment.
• Read and understand manuals, blueprints, and drawings.
• Travel to worksites to repair mobile equipment and coordinate parts movement.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and use of PPE.

• Must be able to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, elevated walkways, and walk, stand, stoop for extended periods of time, enter tight congested areas to include awkward position, and be able to lift 50 lbs. single person – 80 lbs. w/two persons.

Fleet Mechanic Lead - This position will be temporary.

General Description

Under limited supervision, assigned daily work. May be required to explain instructions and documentation to plan work activities. Helps coordinate movement of materials and equipment to work locations. Completes and reviews records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various cleanup activities. Job may require moderate to heavy lifting. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.

Specific Description include but not limited to:

• Performs routine preventive maintenance and/or repairs on but not limited to:


• Personnel Lifts, Club Car Passenger / Utility Carts, Club Car Villager 4 Passenger/ Utility Carts.


• Tennant Shop Tools & Equipment, and Tennant Sweeper.


• Electric, Diesel, and Gas Material Handling Equipment.


• Small Engine repairs and Battery Maintenance


• Ford F-150 and Chevrolet 3500 Pick-up Trucks.


• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and drawings


• Perform scheduled maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating parts


• Diagnose and identify malfunctions, using computerized tools and equipment


• Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts


• Test major components, such as engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems to determine repair/place method


• Disassemble and reassemble various components


• Travel to worksites to repair various mobile equipment

Some automotive and light duty truck diagnosis and repairs. Makes necessary repairs, beyond minor. Can diagnose and repair electrical system, cooling system, braking system, fuel system (gasoline / propane) and steering system. Be able to operate in a safe manner drill press, engine tune-up meters, lap-top computers and related shop equipment. Operates electrical test equipment used in the repair and diagnosis of electrical components. Operates and drive all above mentioned equipment. This is only a brief overview but not limited to what we are looking for.

Site Specific Heavy Equipment Description:

Perform Light Duty Maintenance on Forklifts, Volvo L180H and John Deere 744K Heavy Front End Loaders (remove/replace air filters, grease, engine oil/filter changes, change fuel filters, clean fuel injectors, maintain hydraulic filters/fluids, all lighting/lighting signals
