Job summary

MarBorg is seeking a Lead Fleet Mechanic for the Evening Shift to diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on our heavy-duty fleet. You will guide the evening crew, coordinate work, and ensure trucks are available for operations.

Strong diagnostic skills and a hands-on leadership approach are essential. The role requires experience leading mechanics, documenting repairs in fleet software, and providing a clear handoff to the day shift.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of advanced-level mechanic experience with heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to serve as a technical lead and mentor others.
• Clear shift-to-shift communication on fleet status and repairs.
• Experience coordinating maintenance and repairs.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and computer diagnosis.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret schematics.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritize evening-shift maintenance to keep trucks available.
• Assign and balance work among evening mechanics based on workload.
• Assist with parts identification and inventory management.
• Provide end-of-shift handoff reports to management.
• Document repair orders and parts usage in fleet software.
• Act as hands-on technical lead for evening mechanics.
• Perform quality control inspections for safety and accuracy.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks.
• Rebuild and install engines and test equipment.
• Road test to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Complete DVIR reviews and keep records updated.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area per OSHA standards.
