The Town of Vail seeks a Journey-level Fleet Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on Town vehicles and equipment, including fire trucks and police cars, with a four‑day work week and housing options.
You will monitor radio communications, respond to road calls, and prioritize work requests to keep fleet operations safe and efficient in a mountain environment.

The Town of Vail is seeking a service oriented Journey-level Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all vehicles and equipment owned by the Town with emphasis on Fire trucks, Police cars, Plow trucks, and Transit buses. The mechanic monitors the two-way radio and responds to road calls and performs field repairs as necessary. Additionally, the mechanic is responsible for evaluating work requisitions, determining if the vehicle/equipment is safe to operate and prioritizing work requests. This is a fast paced work environment that offers highly motivated individuals the opportunities to grow and develop their career as a mechanic.
