Job summary

Borden Dairy is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to uphold maintenance on our dairy transport fleet. You will diagnose, repair, and service mechanical and electronic systems while following safety standards and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities include preventive inspections, powertrain service, and continuous improvement efforts. A CDL permit, EPA certifications, and forklift credentials are valued assets for this role, based in Florida.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
One-year technical certificate or five years of relevant experience in transportation equipment maintenance and repair; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with transport refrigeration systems required.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; bilingual skills are beneficial.
Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and various shifts as required.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and services on fleet equipment per manufacturer specifications and company standards.
Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electronic systems including electrical, drivetrain, air and brake systems, suspension and tires.
Troubleshoot and service computerized powertrain components and vehicle electronics.
Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements; maintain fleet tires and ensure equipment meets safety standards.
Adhere to all safety policies and PPE requirements; maintain personal tools.
Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
