The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission in Upper Marlboro, MD is seeking an Automotive/Equipment Mechanic II for the Fleet Management section. You will perform complex repairs on trucks, bulldozers and related heavy equipment, carry out preventive maintenance, and help maintain shop operations.

Required: High School diploma or GED, completion of an apprentice program or six years total experience, journey-level experience, valid driver's license, and CDL within 12 months.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved mechanical apprentice program; or 4 years of progressively responsible experience in maintenance and repair on automotive and/or heavy motor equipment.
• Two years of experience at the journey level.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling six years accepted.
• Valid driver’s license per State and Commission rules; CDL with endorsements within 12 months.

Responsabilidades

• Plans work; receives work orders and troubleshoots equipment malfunctions.
• Performs major repairs on trucks, tractors, backhoes, bulldozers and loaders; rebuilds and replaces components.
• Replaces or overhauls brakes, fuel systems, generators, and electrical systems; inspects and tests equipment.
• Performs regular preventive maintenance: oil changes, lubrication, tire service and engine tune-ups.
• Completes administrative paperwork and inventory management; supervises trainees.
