Job summary

AR Utilities seeks an experienced Heavy Equipment / Truck Mechanic to join our team in the New Braunfels/Marion/Cibolo area. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, commercial trucks, and trailers to keep our fleet safe and productive.

The ideal candidate has hands-on repair skills, strong diagnostic ability, and the discipline to work independently while coordinating with the operations team. We offer comprehensive benefits and a steady, full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in heavy equipment, diesel, truck, trailer, or fleet maintenance and repair.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, electrical systems, and driveline components.
• Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs efficiently.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage multiple repair priorities.
• Must be physically capable of performing assigned repairs.
• Driver’s License preferred but not required.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Experience with construction equipment and preventive maintenance programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Inspect equipment and identify issues and safety concerns.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Repair cooling systems, air systems, brakes, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, and suspensions.
• Complete maintenance records and repair orders accurately and timely.
• Communicate issues and progress to the Operations Service Manager.
• Prioritize repairs with the team to meet deadlines.
• Monitor parts and inventory to prevent delays.
