Job summary

Qualdoc in Kansas City, MO is seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized vehicles. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and keep fleet operations running smoothly in a high-demand environment.

Responsibilities include emergency response, prioritizing tasks with the Shop Foreman, and documenting repairs. A strong diesel background, hydraulics/electronics knowledge, and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of maintenance and repair experience with heavy equipment, trailers, and cranes.
• At least 5 years in two additional technical areas such as hydraulics, electronics, or small engine repair.
• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training in diesel repair preferred.
• Two years of technical or vocational training with at least five years of hands-on repair experience.
• Professional certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized machinery.
• Review daily assignments and repair priorities with the Shop Foreman.
• Ensure tools, parts, and materials are available to minimize downtime.
• Complete work orders accurately, documenting mileage, hours, and repair details.
• Communicate emergency repair needs to the Shop Foreman for proper scheduling.
• Follow all safety procedures and workplace regulations.
• Maintain clean, organized tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Collaborate with other technicians to complete repairs efficiently.
