Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, tire changes, electrical repairs, and emergency road service. Requires four years as a journeyman, Florida CDL Class B within six months, and ASE certifications within two years.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and four years as a journeyman in automotive and construction equipment repair.
• Substitutions allowed per training/education, except licensure requirements.
• Valid Florida driver license and ability to obtain/maintain CDL Class B within six months.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and service fleet vehicles and construction equipment in shop and field.
• Perform preventive maintenance, change fluids, replace filters and lubricate.
• Repair heavy equipment including dump trucks, loaders, bulldozers and rollers.
• Diagnose causes of failures, repair and test equipment before returning to service.
• Repair electrical systems and engine controls, service tires and belts as needed.
• Respond to emergency road service and transport as required.
• Maintain maintenance records and track parts utilization and inventory.
• Keep work areas clean and safe; follow safety policies and procedures.
