Job summary

CCBCU in Augusta, GA is seeking a Fleet Mechanic 1 to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair company fleet equipment including class 1-8 trucks, trailers, and forklifts. The role requires hands-on mechanical work and adherence to safety standards.

You will perform preventive maintenance, order parts, document work orders, and keep equipment in good working order. A high school diploma or GED and valid driver's license are required, with weekend or holiday availability preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
• Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
• Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
• Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on light duty, heavy duty and material handling equipment
• Ability to operate hand tools and others such as bench grinders, torch, drill press, jacks and jack stands, Sawzall, etc. as required to perform work
• Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to ensure efficient use of time
• Ability to work in a positive and productive team environment
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Perform various preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on all types of fleet equipment
• Troubleshoots mechanical and electronic malfunctions, repair or replace defective parts as needed
• Research and order parts, accurately record usage, and asset in managing stock inventory
• Complete electronic work orders, ensure all information is recorded in computerized maintenance system
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all Good Manufacturing Process
• Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
