Job summary

Travel Plaza Transportation, LLC is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair and service a diversified fleet of motorcoaches and vehicles on Oahu. The role includes preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and field repairs to keep the fleet operational in varied weather and road conditions.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years as Fleet Mechanic, Hawaii CDL B with passenger endorsement, and ASE certifications or equivalent training.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; five years of mechanical experience/training in electronic, diesel, air brakes, and cooling systems.
• Two+ years of work as Fleet Mechanic – 2nd Class or equivalent experience.
• Must possess a valid Hawaii CDL B license with passenger endorsement.
• ASE certifications or equivalent training as noted.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair motorcoaches and fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance per schedules for all vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate and document time and labor for repairs or parts replacement.
• Replace and overhaul electrical, hydraulic, cooling systems, and heavy transmissions.
• Inspect for problems; identify parts; fabricate parts as necessary.
• Perform emergency field repairs and transport to job site when needed.
• Maintain accurate time and materials records; keep work area safe and organized.
• Oversee others in manager/shift absence; train new mechanics.
