Job summary

Forward Air is seeking a skilled Mechanic to keep our fleet running safely and efficiently in a fast-paced transportation environment. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair tractors, trailers, and material-handling equipment that support expedited LTL, intermodal, and final mile operations across North America.

In this role, you’ll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, brake, and engine systems, and respond to urgent repair needs to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Experience as a mechanic in fleet or transportation maintenance.
• Knowledge of heavy-duty tractor/trailer systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair tractors, trailers, and material-handling equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, brake, and engine systems.
• Respond to urgent repair needs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate service records and follow safety/DOT standards.
