Job summary

Fessler & Bowman, a Michigan-based leader in specialty concrete and civil earthwork, seeks a Fleet Mechanic to keep our diverse fleet in top condition and running smoothly.

You will perform maintenance and repairs, troubleshoot electrical, drive train, HVAC, and tire systems, and coordinate with the Shop Manager. Travel to nearby job sites is required.

A High School diploma and at least 3 years of mechanic experience, plus a valid driver's license and CDL Class A, are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of mechanic experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• CDL Class A required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair fleet vehicles through preventative care.
• Troubleshoot systems including electrical, drive train, HVAC, brakes, engine, suspension, and tires.
• Identify needed repairs and perform corrective actions.
• Maintain repair orders with detailed repair description, cause of failure and correction/repair used.
• Obtaining and tracking PO numbers for purchases.
• Use diagnostic equipment to detect and isolate faults.
• Interpret test results and determine the most efficient repair procedure.
• Communicate with and provide Shop Manager with accurate and detailed repair information.
• Obtain supervisor permission to complete diagnosed repairs and/or add additional repairs.
• Adjust equipment, replace faulty parts, and repair damaged equipment parts.
• Manage lubrication and oil change service on all equipment.
• Report damaged or faulty equipment to management.
• Other relevant tasks as assigned.
