Job description

We require a dedicated individual to join our Bowmanville fleet maintenance operations to repair and maintain our ready-mix truck fleet and related mobile equipment.

We are looking for a full-time 310T Licensed Fleet Mechanic.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled inspections, running repairs, and service calls.
  • Monitor preventative maintenance; ensuring inspections are completed as scheduled.
  • Inspire the development and continual improvement of employees in the department through new programs and training.
  • Ensure the most cost-effective manner of department operations, assisting the Maintenance Manager with preparing and meeting budgeted areas of the department.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot & repair all vehicle systems.
  • Operate equipment after completing repairs to ensure satisfactory completion/resolution of problem(s).
  • Actively maintain the parts inventory & shop supplies levels.
  • Maintain a safe clean work area, following all government & company Safety & Environmental requirements and policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and the use of protective equipment as required by any government/company regulation and procedures.
  • Promote and monitor an effective safety program.
  • Support the company’s vision and the success of the Safety & Environment programs.
  • Provide on-site supervision, as required.
Qualifications:
  • Safety-oriented team player
  • Must be able to work Night shift
  • Currently possess or working towards your 310T certificate, with a millwright certificate of training an asset.
  • Ability to learn and share repair-related knowledge
  • Ability to work independently where required
  • Minimum full class G valid Ontario Driver's license
  • Ability to travel regularly during work hours – occasional overnights are required.
