Job summary

Lincoln County Fleet Services is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventative maintenance on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, from automobiles to heavy trucks and buses. You will handle minor repairs, diagnostics, and light fabrication as part of a small team, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, record-keeping, and coordinating with partner agencies under intergovernmental agreements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in preventive maintenance and minor repairs on a broad fleet of vehicles.
  • Ability to read manuals and schematics; basic electrical, hydraulic, and fuel-system knowledge.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on automobiles, trucks, transit vehicles, machinery, and heavy equipment.
  • Carry out minor engine, fuel, ignition, emission and electrical repairs; service brakes and suspensions.
  • Welding/cutting as needed and fabricating parts for custom jobs.
  • Inspect vehicles; maintain service records and order parts as required.
  • Install and remove aftermarket equipment; operate and troubleshoot onboard diagnostic tools.
