Join Our Team as a Fleet Mechanic with A Transit!

Job Description:

As a Fleet Mechanic with A Transit, you will play a critical role in ensuring all our vehicles are safe and ready for daily rollout. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Starting vehicles for rollout.
  • Leading preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnosing and performing all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, engines, drivetrains, transmissions, and other repairs.
  • Ensuring work orders are completed accurately.
  • Assisting with road calls and emergency services as necessary.
  • Entering and maintaining information in FA Suites.
  • Working with lot attendants to maintain vehicle readiness and safety.
  • Tracking oil samples.
  • Reporting shop needs and parts.
  • Cleaning the garage and work area.
  • Ensuring necessary vehicles are available for compliance.
  • Checking DVIR repairs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience working on vehicles inside a shop.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to read and interpret safety documents, blueprints, schematics, and other mechanical diagrams.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug test.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Qualifications:

  • Maintenance experience with all types of heavy-duty transit equipment.
  • Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification .
  • Strong electrical diagnostic skills.
