Job summary

Acadian Ambulance Service has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Mechanic to join our team. The incumbent will perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on our ambulance vehicles.

Duties include inspecting and repairing company vehicles, preventive maintenance on the ambulance fleet, mechanical and electrical repairs, and driving vehicles. On-the-job training is available; diesel mechanic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current driver’s license (Class D or greater).
• On-the-job training with 2–3 years mechanical experience; related training by GM or other schools.
• Diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Basic hand tools; reading, writing and speaking skills.

• Preventive maintenance on ambulance fleet and other company vehicles.

• Work with shop employees and supervisors


• Electrical repairs


• Drive vehicles


• Uniforms provided


• Vacation and Sick Time


• Weekly Built-In Overtime

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required


• Current driver’s license (Class D or greater)


• On-the-job training available with two to three years of mechanical experience; related training by G.M. or other schools (trade or otherwise)


• Diesel Mechanic experience preferred


• Mechanical knowledge; reading; writing; speaking; hand tool use; specialized tool use


• Have basic hand tools
