Job summary

Trillium Staffing is seeking a Fleet Mechanic in the Lansing, Michigan area for a direct hire with our client.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair vehicles, and ensure DOT safety compliance while working a 4-day schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility in shifts. The role offers pay at $32.81 per hour, with a $1.00 premium for 6 heavy-duty master certifications and client benefits.

Qualifications

• 3 years fleet maintenance and repair experience.
• Valid driver’s license with Chauffeur’s license.
• Must pass DOT medical exam.
• Cell phone required by all mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventive maintenance for vehicles by inspections, servicing, tests and replacing worn components.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle issues using tests and diagnostic equipment; repair or replace parts with tools.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper vehicle records.
• Filling out and updating forms.
• Ensure safe operation of vehicles by adhering to DOT safety standards and regulations.
• Move, position, park and fuel company equipment as required.
• Carry out other assigned duties as needed.

Job description

Fleet Mechanic position available in the Lansing, Michigan area working at our client location who is an established fleet and food manufacturer.

Direct hire opportunity. The primary workspace is located in a fully equipped garage. Occasional outdoor work in different weather conditions may be required. Pay rate $32.81 per hour. Additional $1.00 an hour if possess 6-heavy duty master certifications. 4-day work week, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May work Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday. Must be flexible to work various shifts if needed.Client Company benefits available.

Essential Job Functions for the Fleet Mechanic role:

• Complete preventive maintenance for vehicles by conducting inspections, servicing, performance tests, and replacing worn components.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle issues based on driver feedback, functional tests, and using diagnostic equipment; repair or replace parts with hand tools and garage machinery.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper vehicle records
• Filling out and updating forms.
• Ensure safe operation of vehicles by adhering to DOT safety standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
• Move, position, park, and fuel company equipment as required.
• Carry out other assigned duties as needed.

Minimum position qualifications/education for the Fleet Mechanic position:

• 3 years fleet maintenance and repair experience
• Valid driver’s license with Chauffeur’s license
• Must be able to pass DOT medical exam
• All mechanics must have a cell phone
