Job summary

Trillium Staffing is seeking a 2nd shift Fleet Mechanic for a Jackson, Michigan area client involved in fleet operations and food manufacturing.

The role is direct hire with a 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., five days a week. The primary workspace is a fully equipped garage with occasional outdoor work in varied weather. Pay is $30.78 per hour, with benefits available.

Qualifications

• 3 years fleet maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license with Chauffeur’s license.
• Must be able to pass DOT medical exam.
• Cell phone required by all mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventive maintenance for vehicles by inspecting, servicing, testing, and replacing worn components.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle issues using driver feedback, tests, and diagnostic equipment; repair or replace parts with hand tools and garage machinery.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper vehicle records.
• Fill out and update forms.
• Ensure safe operation of vehicles by adhering to DOT safety standards and legal regulations.
• Move, position, park, and fuel company equipment as required.
• Carry out other assigned duties as needed.

2nd shift Fleet Mechanic position available in the Jackson, Michigan area working at our client location who is an established fleet operation and food manufacturer.

Direct hire opportunity. The primary workspace is located in a fully equipped garage. Occasional outdoor work in different weather conditions may be required. Pay rate $30.78 per hour.Receive up to $1.50 an hour if possess 6-heavy duty master certifications and A/C. Client Company benefits available

5 day work week-8 hours per day
Monday-Friday (By Seniority)
2nd shift hours-3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Must be flexible to work other shifts as needed

Essential Job Functions

• Complete preventive maintenance for vehicles by conducting inspections, servicing, performance tests, and replacing worn components.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle issues based on driver feedback, functional tests, and using diagnostic equipment; repair or replace parts with hand tools and garage machinery.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper vehicle records
• Filling out and updating forms.
• Ensure safe operation of vehicles by adhering to DOT safety standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
• Move, position, park, and fuel company equipment as required.
• Carry out other assigned duties as needed.

Minimum Position Qualifications

• 3 years fleet maintenance and repair experience
• Valid driver’s license with Chauffeur’s license
• Must be able to pass DOT medical exam
• All mechanics must have a cell phone
