Job summary

The Village of Lake Zurich is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair gas, diesel, and electric municipal trucks, heavy equipment, and public safety vehicles. This position will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and install specialized emergency equipment.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 4–5 years of experience as a mechanic, and the ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

Job Description: This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all municipal vehicles and will require the individual to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and install specialized emergency equipment.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of experience in a mechanic role

• Obtain a State of Illinois Class “A” (CDL) driver’s license with airbrake, and tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire
