Job summary

Menards is hiring a Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair light to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and forklifts. This full-time role emphasizes preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to keep equipment running smoothly and safely.

You will perform welding and fabrication, and keep detailed maintenance records, following DOT standards and company policies. Eligible employees receive health/dental insurance, 401(k), PTO, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Experience with fleet maintenance and repairs.
• Familiarity with DOT standards for over-the-road equipment.
• Welding and fabrication skills as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fleet equipment to locate and determine repair needs.
• Repair, replace, and adjust units and related parts.
• Perform maintenance to DOT standards for over-the-road equipment.
• Perform general overhaul and repair on engines powered by gasoline, diesel, propane, and batteries.
• General repair, welding, and fabrication of fleet units.
• Perform preventive maintenance including lubrication and oil changes.
• Clean and maintain the work area and equipment.
• Maintain records of maintenance and repair work.

Fleet Mechanics are responsible for the Maintenance of Menard-owned equipment and vehicles. This is light duty, medium duty, and heavy-duty truck, trailer, and forklift repairs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect fleet equipment to locate and determine the extent of necessary repair
• Repair, replace, and adjust necessary units and related parts
• Perform maintenance work to DOT standard for over the road equipment
• Perform general overhaul and repair work on gasoline, diesel, propane, and battery powered engines/equipment
• General repair, welding, and fabrication of fleet units
• Perform preventive maintenance work on vehicles including lubrication, oil changes, and annual inspections
• Clean and maintain the work area and equipment
• Maintain records on all maintenance and repair work performed
