The role emphasizes safety, organization, and high-quality service to ensure peak performance and safety of our fleet at the Danbury facility. Qualified candidates should have 2–4 years of experience, be proficient with hand, air, and power tools, and demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience preferred but willing to train the right candidates.
• Able to use hand tools, air tools and power tools.
• Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Able to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain outstanding customer service at all times
• Ensure the consistency and quality of each task performed
• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnosis and repairs on all fleet vehicles and equipment
• Perform all aspects of vehicle repairs by using various types of diagnostics and testing equipment
• Be responsible for the cleanliness of the area where work is performed
• Clearly communicate details of the vehicle service to the Fleet Manager
• Neatly and completely fill out service paperwork
• Other duties as assigned

Job Summary

The fleet mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostic testing and repairs on a growing variety of vehicles and vehicle systems. Vehicles will include sedans, pick-up trucks, service vans, utility trucks, and utility trucks with cranes, straight trucks, bobtails, tractors, trailers, dump trucks and construction equipment. Vehicle systems will include a/c, brakes, electrical, power train, suspension, tires, computer systems, metering systems, piping and tanks.
