Job Description

Job Purpose: Control the dispatch of Owner Operators and Company Drivers in a controlled situation to obtain maximum equipment utilization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Review, and revise when necessary, all load assignments from CSR, CSS.
2. Assign drivers and equipment to orders.
3. Maintain communication with planner regarding changes of pick-up and delivery schedules and potential service failures.
4. Dispatch drivers on loads.
5. Secure and plan drivers' next move or backhaul.
6. Maintain check calls.
7. Monitor driver status and availability in conformance with FMCSA regulations.
8. Monitor performance and report service failures.
9. Monitor truck and trailer location and availability.
10. Update and monitor all settlement records, including cash advances and fuel transactions, on the computer, covering lumpers, driver assists, detention, and layovers.
11. Ensure proper documentation.
12. Report all driver/owner operator discipline incidents to the OPNS manager.
13. Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.
