Job summary

City of Forest Park seeks a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and general repairs on the City’s fleet. The role requires a CDL-B with motorcycle endorsement, two years of repair experience, and willingness to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years paid/employed experience in motor vehicle repair work.
• Must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License-Class B from the State of Ohio, including a motorcycle endorsement, and the ability to drive at night with no restrictions or be able to obtain within 6 months.
• Must be able to be insured and remain insurable by the City’s insurance carrier if the position requires driving.
• Desirable ASE and EVT certifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all City-owned equipment.
• Performs general automotive repair work including brakes, engines, carburetor, and replacing worn parts.
• Maintains record system on Preventive Vehicular Maintenance program.
• Assists Fleet Manager in preparing bidding specifications for new equipment.
• May operate equipment or perform other work in Public Works Department as required.
• Willing to work shifts, emergencies, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Performs related work as required.
