Job summary

TruGreen is seeking a maintenance technician in Carpentersville, IL to perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on production equipment and fleet vehicles. You will diagnose and repair chassis, back-end systems, tractors, forklifts, and other equipment, while documenting all work electronically and managing parts inventory.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED with 1–4 years of automotive mechanic experience, strong computer skills, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1–4 years automotive mechanic experience or equivalent.
• Ability to operate independently and as part of a team.
• Computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Read and interpret safety rules, manuals and procedures.
• Good time management, organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and sustain field work.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair fleet vehicle chassis and back-end tank, pump and spray systems.
• Diagnose and repair tractors, forklifts, small engines and equipment.
• Document all repairs in an electronic maintenance management system.
• Maintain parts inventory and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Arrange outsourced maintenance and document it with vendors.
• Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs; manage budget.
