Job summary

Advanced Drainage Systems is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support fleet maintenance, equipment repairs, and safety compliance at our facility. This role requires welding and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills, a current CDL, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.

You will maintain records, coordinate with vendors, manage parts and tools, and support ongoing PM schedules while adhering to our core values and safety standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• Certified welder with safety training.

• Current CDL license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Familiarity with DOT operating procedures and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Practice proper PPE and maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain and repair fleet records and files.
• Communicate unsafe conditions to Plant Manager.
• Monitor and repair reported issues and ensure PM schedule compliance.
• Perform forklift operation safely and efficiently.
• Carry out equipment and trailer repairs as needed.
• Maintain fleet maintenance shop cleanliness and organization.
• Manage operating supplies and fleet work orders.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and manage tire program.
• Control R&M costs for fleet and forklift operations.
• Perform minor engine repairs as required.
• Ensure accurate department man-hours tracking.
• Adhere to ADS core values in daily work.

• Manage and properly maintain all vehicle maintenance records and files
• Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Plant Manager

Preferred Experience

• 3-5 years experience in field of repair, maintenance, welding

Physical Requirements

• The employee will lift and move heavy items, which will require the ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds to a height of 6 feet
• The employee will be working specified shifts and moving around at all times, which will require the ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours
• Facilities can be extremely hot or cold at times, so the employee must have the ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes
• The employee will be handling materials daily, which requires the ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods
• The Position requires full range of body motion on a daily basis including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
