Job summary

zTrip is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to keep a large North American fleet road-ready. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns, and conduct fleet inspections to uphold safety and reliability.

You will repair and replace brakes, suspension, tires, and electrical systems, maintain service records, and work with leadership and operations to prioritize tasks and minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Fleet Maintenance Technician or similar role.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues.
• Experience with fleet vehicles and safety compliance.
• Valid driver’s license required.

What You'll Do as a Fleet Maintenance Technician:

Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

• Perform preventative maintenance services to enhance vehicle performance, reliability, and longevity.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns using modern diagnostic equipment and repair technology.
• Conduct thorough fleet inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards.
• Repair and replace components including brakes, suspension systems, steering components, tires, electrical systems, and other essential equipment.
• Complete maintenance and repair work efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and maintenance logs.
• Support fleet av;ailability by minimizing vehicle downtime through proactive maintenance and timely repairs.
• Recommend preventative maintenance solutions that improve vehicle life and reduce long-term operating costs.

Fleet Operations Support

• Collaborate with maintenance leadership, technicians, and operations teams to support fleet readiness goals.
• Prioritize maintenance and repair activities based on operational needs and vehicle availability.
• Participate in preventative maintenance programs designed to maximize fleet performance.
• Identify recurring mechanical issues and recommend long-term corrective solutions.
• Help maintain a high level of fleet availability to support customer transportation services.
• Ensure all vehicles meet company standards for safety, reliability, and performance.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Safely operate tools, diagnostic equipment, vehicle lifts, and shop machinery.
• Assist with maintenance compliance requirements, inspections, and recordkeeping.
• Identify potential mechanical and safety concerns before they impact operations.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines and company repair standards when completing maintenance work.

What We're Looking for as a Fleet Maintenance Technician:

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Fleet Maintenance Technician, Automotive Technician, Diesel Technician, Mechanic, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repair procedures, and preventative maintenance practices.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and performance-related issues.
• Experience working on fleet vehicles, passenger vehicles, vans, buses, commercial vehicles, or light-duty trucks preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious.
• Valid driver's license required.
• ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking, work orders, and repair documentation.
