Job summary

Durham School Services seeks an experienced Fleet Supervisor to lead a diesel shop handling heavy/medium duty fleets. You will diagnose, repair, and supervise maintenance activities, ensuring DOT compliance and efficient operations.

The role requires strong computer skills, experience with maintenance planning, and leadership to manage staff and budget. This position offers a stable work environment within the organization’s maintenance facilities.

Qualifications

5+ years of fleet supervisor experience in a diesel shop with heavy/medium duty fleets.
Minimum of 5 years auto, truck, or bus mechanical repair experience.
Experience with DOT compliance for med/heavy trucks.
ASE Master Technician certification preferred.
Must be computer proficient.

Responsibilities

Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs within qualification level.
Oversee local implementation of maintenance procedures and safety standards.
Oversee use of the EAM ERP system to record and track maintenance work orders and parts inventory.
Supervise maintenance staff at the facility.
Oversee preventive maintenance and unscheduled repairs for vehicles serviced at the facility.
Coordinate with driver care, route operations, and customer care at the local level.
Represent the maintenance activity in local operations interactions.
Maintain parts inventory and oversee purchasing and budget aspects.
