Position Summary:
As a Penske Maintenance Supervisor, you will use your excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills to engage your diesel technicians, maintain good morale among your team, and keep your customers happy. Regular duties include coordinating, scheduling, and auditing vehicle maintenance repairs, including preventative, mechanical, and electrical repairs to tractors, trucks, and trailers.

You will be involved in hiring, training, and ongoing development of vehicle maintenance technicians to ensure a highly skilled workforce able to meet customer expectations.

Preferred candidates will have at least 3+ years in fleet vehicle maintenance overseeing technicians. Minimally qualified candidates will have at least 3 years of team management in an environment with strong operational metrics. This position offers growth into leadership roles within Penske, and mechanic experience is not required.

All new maintenance supervisors will participate in a training program covering vehicle componentry, maintenance technology, service department management, leadership, and customer engagement.

Major Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign work to meet customer needs
• Ensure quality, compliance, and safety of assets
• Control repair, inventory, and labor costs
• Meet and exceed customer satisfaction
• Coach and mentor technicians and CSRs
• Monitor work levels of associates
• Maintain a clean and safe facility environment
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
• 3-5 years fleet maintenance management or 3 years team management with strong operational metrics
• High School Diploma or equivalent; associate or tech school degree preferred
• Strong customer service and organizational skills
• Valid Driver’s License
• Proficiency with computers and web-based applications preferred
• Ability to comply with safety and operational policies and procedures
• Regular attendance and willingness to travel within the district
• Must pass background and drug screening

Physical Requirements

• Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting
• Use of hands for routine tasks
• Ability to work at heights and in all weather conditions
• Visual and auditory acuity to navigate the work environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs
