Job summary

GROWMARK, Inc. in Waterloo, IA is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair our fleet to keep operations safe and efficient. You will perform diagnostics, repair heavy equipment, and ensure compliance with DOT and safety standards.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with preferred diesel/heavy-duty experience and the ability to qualify as an air brake technician. This role offers hands-on maintenance with opportunities to attend maintenance schools, work with

Qualifications

• Requires a high school degree or GED; ability to read/interpret maintenance manuals and qualify for federal annual inspections and air brake certification.
• Ability to climb into and work in confined spaces with a 16-inch entry/exit opening.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record; good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs per procedures; meet regulatory requirements; analyze problems and determine solutions.
• Operate diagnostic equipment to identify needed repairs.
• Repair fleet components including pressure vessels, dry vans, fuel trailers, and LP bobtails; ensure tooling readiness.
• Welding and cutting for fleet repair; maintain safe, clean work environment; follow safety standards.
