Job summary

Lignetics Inc. in White Pigeon, Michigan is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain fleet vehicles and equipment.

The role focuses on diesel/gasoline trucks, trailers, and related systems to keep assets safe, compliant, and road-ready. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of fleet or heavy equipment maintenance, knowledge of diesel engines and air brake systems, and the ability to read manuals and wiring diagrams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical training preferred.
• 2+ years in fleet, truck, or heavy equipment maintenance.
• ASE certifications a plus.
• CDL preferred or able to obtain (Class A or B).
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, air brake systems, and hydraulics.
• Able to read and interpret manuals and wiring diagrams.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and computer-based software.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Strong attention to detail and safety commitment.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMIs and safety checks on fleet vehicles per DOT standards.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Complete repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, HVAC, and other systems.
• Maintain accurate service records and work orders.
• Perform road calls and emergency repairs when needed.
• Use diagnostic tools and repair manuals to troubleshoot issues.
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Coordinate with drivers and operations teams to schedule maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
