Job summary

Lignetics Inc. in White Pigeon, MI is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Mechanic. The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment to keep them safe and road-ready.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
  • 2+ years of fleet/truck/heavy equipment maintenance experience.
  • ASE certifications a plus.
  • CDL preferred or ability to obtain (Class A or B).
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and computer software.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections per company and DOT standards.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Complete repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, HVAC, and other systems.
  • Maintain accurate service records and work orders.
  • Perform road calls and emergency repairs when needed.
  • Use diagnostic tools and repair manuals to troubleshoot issues.
  • Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate with drivers and operations to schedule maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment per OSHA guidelines.

Fleet Maintenance Mechanic Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diesel and/or gasoline-powered trucks, trailers, and related systems, and will ensure all fleet assets remain safe, compliant, and road-ready.

Fleet Maintenance Mechanic Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs) and safety checks on fleet vehicles per company and DOT standards
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
  • Complete repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, HVAC, and other systems
  • Maintain accurate service records, and work orders
  • Perform road calls and emergency repairs when needed
  • Use diagnostic tools and repair manuals to troubleshoot issues
