Job summary

Transport Refrigeration Services, Inc. in Brundidge, AL is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Operations Manager to lead the diesel shop and supervise technicians. The role focuses on reducing downtime, improving shop efficiency, and ensuring high-quality service for trucks, trailers and refrigeration units.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a management/supervisory role in a large fleet, diesel, or trailer repair shop.
• Experience conducting employee reviews.
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, trailer systems, and transport refrigeration units.
• Experience with DOT & OSHA compliance and repair procedures.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop shop teams across multiple shifts.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through quality service and communication.
• Oversee technician training and performance reviews.
• Manage shop scheduling, workloads and project coordination.
• Maintain safety programs and conduct inspections.
• Support hands-on shop work during peak times.
• Track department performance and drive efficiency improvements.
• Build relationships with vendors and customers.
• Promote a positive, high-performance team culture.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Management or supervisory role experience in a large fleet, diesel, or trailer repair shop (3+ years preferred)
• Experience conducting employee reviews
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, trailer systems, and transport refrigeration units
• Experience with DOT & OSHA compliance, and repair procedures
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Obtain a toolbox and required tools
• High school diploma or equivalent
