Job summary

Agramont Transport Inc. seeks a Fleet Maintenance Manager in San Diego to lead maintenance operations for company trucks and trailers. You will supervise maintenance staff, coordinate road service and external repairs, and ensure timely completion of repairs to minimize downtime.

You will work with the Safety Manager and Dispatch to communicate equipment status and maintenance needs, onboard new drivers, and continuously improve maintenance workflows and coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience managing commercial truck and trailer maintenance or fleet operations.
• Experience supervising maintenance personnel and monitoring performance.
• Strong knowledge of common truck/trailer mechanical issues and repair procedures.
• Experience coordinating with mechanics, repair facilities, and road service providers.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving and follow-up skills.
• Able to establish maintenance priorities and respond to urgent breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance personnel, establish daily work priorities, assign tasks, and monitor repair progress, work quality, and employee performance.
• Plan and coordinate daily shop maintenance and repair activities.
• Receive mechanical issue reports from drivers via WhatsApp and phone, gathering details and service needs.
• Assess reported concerns and determine service arrangements and repair priorities.
• Locate and coordinate road service providers and repair facilities.
• Coordinate external mechanics for out-of-area trucks and trailers.
• Follow repairs through completion and communicate delays and completion estimates.
• Keep drivers, Dispatch, and Safety Manager informed of progress and delays.
• Maintain records of issues, service arrangements, and completed repairs.
• Conduct maintenance onboarding for new drivers on reporting procedures and breakdown handling.
• Provide after-hours maintenance support.
• Identify opportunities to improve repair coordination and reduce downtime.

Agramont Transport Inc. is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead daily maintenance operations for company trucks and trailers. This role manages maintenance personnel, establishes work priorities, coordinates road service and external repairs, and follows maintenance issues through completion to minimize equipment downtime.

The Fleet Maintenance Manager works alongside the Safety Manager, who handles fleet administrative and compliance responsibilities, and partners with Dispatch to communicate equipment status and maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance personnel, establish daily work priorities, assign tasks, and monitor repair progress, work quality, and employee performance.
• Plan and coordinate daily shop maintenance and repair activities.
• Receive mechanical issue reports from drivers through WhatsApp and phone calls, gathering equipment details, location, and service needs.
• Assess reported mechanical concerns and determine appropriate service arrangements and repair priorities.
• Locate and coordinate road service providers and repair facilities.
• Coordinate external mechanics for trucks and trailers operating outside the local area.
• Follow repairs through completion, address delays, and confirm that reported mechanical concerns have been resolved.
• Keep drivers, Dispatch, and the Safety Manager informed of repair progress, service delays, and estimated completion times.
• Maintain accurate records of reported mechanical issues, service arrangements, and completed repairs.
• Conduct maintenance onboarding for new drivers, covering mechanical issue reporting, breakdown procedures, equipment care, and how to request assistance.
• Provide after-hours maintenance support.
• Identify opportunities to improve repair coordination, maintenance workflows, and equipment downtime.

• Ability to establish maintenance priorities, manage multiple service requests, and respond effectively to urgent breakdowns.
• Comfortable using WhatsApp, phone communication, and electronic maintenance tracking tools.
• Availability for assigned after-hours coverage.
• Bilingual English and Spanish required.

Compensation

$72,800-$83,200 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
