About Us:

Tom Franey Trucking is a leading hazardous materials transportation company committed to safety, reliability, and excellence in transportation services. We are looking for a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee our fleet maintenance operations and ensure our trucks and equipment are in optimal working condition.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of mechanics and technicians, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all company trucks, trailers, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with dispatch and safety operations to ensure the steady availability of trucks and trailers.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs focused on reduced downtime and extended vehicle life.
  • Respond promptly to after-hours emergency maintenance issues and breakdowns and when necessary, coordinate service calls and repair locally and out of state.
  • Oversee the completion of all fleet trailer vapor tests and coordinate outside customer vapor tests and repair.
  • Using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), create and maintain customer repair invoices.
  • Coordinate with the Parts Manager for parts, tools, and equipment procurement.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and federal inspections.
  • Conduct regular inspections of fleet vehicles to identify and address potential issues.
  • Train and mentor maintenance staff on best practices and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certifications preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in truck and fleet maintenance, with at least 2 years in a management role.
  • Strong knowledge of CAT and Cummins diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and fleet maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and record-keeping.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
