Overview

The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator plays a crucial role in optimizing fleet operations by managing repairs with a focus on parts pricing and labor efficiency. This position collaborates closely with the hauling division, Fleet Coordinators, and other teams. Responsibilities include analyzing maintenance needs, providing clear guidance on vehicle repairs, and implementing strategies to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.

The coordinator will leverage data to make informed decisions, driving improvements in the department. Building professional relationships across the company is essential, as this role serves as an advocate for fleet needs and priorities. Overall, the aim is to enhance efficiency, achieve cost savings, and promote a proactive maintenance culture.

Responsibilities
  • Identify trends and develop recommendations on preventive maintenance processes.
  • Review and negotiate pricing for repair and maintenance services, ensuring pricing levels meet company standards.
  • Negotiate and set parts pricing markup with vendors.
  • Analyze fleet maintenance data with the goal of reducing costs.
  • Work closely with national accounts to negotiate and verify agreed-upon parts pricing.
  • Serve as the lead subject matter expert on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Ensure safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational needs.
  • Make repair recommendations based on detailed cost analysis and fleet maintenance standards.
  • Maintain good working relationships with other departments and mentor team members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in fleet maintenance, shop, or mechanics management.
  • 3+ years managing and analyzing vehicle maintenance costs or pricing.
  • 3+ years experience with pump and hydraulic equipment preferred.
  • 1+ years experience with MS Excel and database management.
  • Understanding of vehicle licensing, HDUT, and IFTA for medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Strong organizational, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated individual capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Applicants must not require future sponsorship for an employment visa.
