Job summary

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, formal automotive training, and a valid Texas Class C license with a clean record. ASE certification is preferred and candidate must adhere to environmental and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret vehicle technical data, electrical schematics, and service manuals.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards for handling chemicals, fluids, and lubricants.
• Ability to prioritize daily maintenance tasks across diverse equipment.
• Must hold a valid Texas Class C driver’s license and keep a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, lubrication, oil and filter changes, and tune-ups on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain vehicle registration readiness and provide roadside support for disabled CTCD vehicles.
• Diagnose, repair, and overhaul transmissions, steering, suspension systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, starting/charging components, and vehicle controls.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems.
• Perform engine diagnostics and repairs on diesel, gas, and small engines.
• Conduct tire repairs, mounting, balancing, and installation.
• Perform structural repairs and fabrication using welding equipment.
• Maintain maintenance and repair on heavy equipment, tractors, and outdoor tools.
• Accurately estimate repair times, parts, and labor for work orders.
