Job summary

Kirby shoreside position in Channelview, TX seeks a maintenance technician to handle fleet and facility upkeep on barges and docks. You will perform line handling, coordinate fleet and facility services, and manage inventories of emergency supplies and hurricane equipment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and the ability to obtain a CDL if necessary. Weekend work and prior deckhand or mechanical/construction experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Line handling on vessels.
• Coordinate fleet services.
• Coordinate facility services.
• General upkeep of fleet grounds.
• General upkeep of facility grounds.
• Purchase supplies for day-to-day operations.
• Complete projects assigned by fleet maintenance coordinator.
• Maintain inventory of emergency supplies.
• Maintain inventory/readiness of hurricane response equipment.
• Coordinate daily management of waste facilities, including trash and oil.
• Perform carpentry work.
• Operate small equipment including lawn equipment, tractors, ATVs.
• All other duties as assigned.
