Job summary

Missouri Department of Conservation seeks a skilled mechanic to keep vehicles and field equipment in safe operation. You will diagnose issues, schedule repairs, and perform welding/fabrication on a variety of gear in a demanding outdoor setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of mechanic experience; the role may require travel and some overnight stays. CDL and state inspection certification must be obtained within six months.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Three years of experience as a mechanic required.
Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
Must obtain Missouri State Vehicle Inspection Certification within 6 months.
Must obtain and maintain a Class A CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

Keep vehicles and equipment in safe and operating condition.
Schedule equipment repairs and follow up on completion.
Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot vehicle and equipment issues.
Repair and maintain vehicles, tractors, construction equipment, ATVs, generators, outboards, boats, etc.
Conduct safety inspections.
Perform welding and fabrication projects.
Order supplies and complete paperwork.
