Job summary

DPR Construction is seeking a Shop Mechanic to perform inspection, maintenance and light repairs on rental equipment at our NJ warehouse. You will help keep fleet uptime through preventive maintenance, timely diagnostics, and accurate documentation.

The role emphasizes safety and adherence to OSHA standards, with 1–3 years of maintenance experience and a valid driver’s license required. Work is primarily in the shop with opportunities to support field activities as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of experience in equipment maintenance or related field.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• OSHA 10-Hour General Industry certification within 3 months of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and perform light repairs on rental equipment to ensure readiness.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections following OEM guidelines.
• Diagnose basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel, and small-engine issues and escalate complex problems.
• Document inspections and repairs in work order systems for fleet health tracking.
• Maintain organized shop/yard areas and support inventory of commonly used parts.
