Job summary

Moss is hiring a Fleet Equipment Mechanic to ensure construction equipment is in service-ready condition and to perform preventive maintenance across job sites. You will respond to service calls, troubleshoot issues with the Equipment Manager and vendors, and complete electronic work orders while adhering to Moss safety guidelines.

Requires welding/burning ability, DOT physical, and willingness to travel to FL, GA, and AR with overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Welding and burning ability required.
• DOT physical for driving a commercial service truck is required.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Ability to travel to job sites (FL, GA, AR) with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on construction equipment.
• Respond to service calls and perform repairs or maintenance as scheduled.
• Troubleshoot service issues with Equipment Manager and vendors.
• Complete electronic work orders and ensure equipment is safe and ready for job sites.

Must be able to troubleshoot issues using Diagnostic Tools and Perform the most economical repairs in a safe and timely manner. The candidate must have the ability to perform preventative maintenance routine and job site on demand equipment down issues and on-site repairs as scheduled by the Solar Equipment Coordinator / Fleet Equipment Manager. Perform key responsibility area’s and effectively communicate and coordinate with Asset Management Team members, jobsites, and vendors.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform regular routine preventative maintenance service on Construction EquipmentRespond to service call requests immediately and perform repairs or maintenance as coordinated and scheduled with the Equipment Coordinator / Equipment ManagerCommunicate and trouble-shoot service issues with the Equipment Coordinator / Equipment Manager and collaborate with outsourced service vendors to solve service issuesFollow standard routine review of services performed and take responsibility for completing work orders and using maintenance software confirm equipment is safe, operable and in jobsite ready conditionMust have welding and burning abilityComplete electronic work orders and turn in dailyWork in a safe manner to protect themselves, co-workers, equipment and surrounding property per the Moss Safety Guidelines and PolicyPerform other duties as assignedEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCEMinimum Associates Degree in a Heavy Equipment ProgramMinimum 5 Years Construction Industry ExperienceMaintain DOT physical for driving a commercial service truck.
