Job summary

PlusAI Inc. in Silicon Valley seeks a Fleet Dispatcher to act as the central operational nerve for its autonomous truck fleet across Northern California (Bay Area), Texas, and international testing locations.

You will manage daily dispatch, mission scheduling, personnel scheduling, and real-time fleet tracking. Collaborate with Vehicle Operators, Ops leads, safety leads, and engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, on-time mission execution across time zones.

Qualifications

• Ability to manage assets, scheduling, personnel, and live field operations across multiple sites and time zones.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication under fast-moving conditions.
• Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Slack, and Google Workspace for daily use and documentation.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, Hours of Service rules, and AV testing safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily vehicle and personnel schedules, travel plans, mission assignments, and vehicle staging for autonomous truck operations in the Bay Area, Texas, and international testing locations.
• Serve as the primary operational liaison between operations, engineering, field support, and technicians for status updates and efficient mission execution.
• Maintain detailed fleet and personnel insights and report on internal tracking systems to maximize utilization.
• Act as the first point of contact for testing escalations, near-misses, incidents, and mission issues, following safety protocols and escalation procedures.
• Own engineering test plan review and vehicle testing process completion for all mission types.
• Track mission progress, telemetry, and operational status across public highways and closed test facilities.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose solutions to strengthen workflows and resource allocation.

About the Role

As Fleet Dispatcher, you will serve as the central operational nerve center for PlusAI's autonomous truck fleet across our primary testing hubs in Northern California (Bay Area), Texas, and international testing locations. You will manage daily dispatch operations, vehicle mission scheduling, personnel scheduling, and real-time fleet tracking across closed courses and public road test routes. Working closely with Vehicle Operators, Vehicle Operations Specialists, ops leads, safety leads, and hardware/software engineering teams, you will ensure safe, efficient, and on-time mission execution across multiple time zones. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, quick problem-solving under pressure, and a safety-first mindset.

What You'll Do

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage assets, scheduling, personnel, and live field operations across multiple geographical sites and time zones.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to maintain composure during fast-moving operational scenarios.
• Strong understanding of JIRA, Confluence, Slack, and Google Workspace for daily usage and creation of new materials.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, commercial driver Hours of Service (HOS) rules, and AV testing safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in dispatching, fleet operations, or mission control within autonomous vehicles, commercial trucking, or high-consequence logistics operations.
• Experience creating fleet management and scheduling tools.
• Familiarity with dashcam / ELD systems.
• Previous experience working in an agile or fast-paced startup environment.
