Job summary

Summit School Services is seeking a Fleet Tech II to diagnose and repair medium/heavy vehicles used to transport students. You will work on braking, steering, electrical, HVAC, drivetrains, and other school bus systems while balancing quality repairs with uptime.

This role requires 3+ years of experience, proficiency with diagnostics, and the ability to read and communicate in English. CDL preferred; company offers training and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of light/medium/heavy-duty mechanic repair experience.
• Proficient with diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and A/C issues.
• High school diploma or equivalent; CDL preferred and training available.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair automotive and diesel systems including brakes, steering, suspension, drivetrains, electrical, cooling, and fuel systems.
• Perform engine adjustments, rebuilds, and test drives to verify repairs.
• Complete safety inspections and sign-offs before releasing vehicles.
• Maintain safe, organized workspace following all standards; log labor hours and parts.
• Respond to road calls and perform mobile repairs as needed.
