Job summary

Zūm is seeking an experienced Technician I to support maintenance operations across our fleet. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform repairs, and conduct safety inspections to ensure DOT compliance and safe transportation for students.

The role requires meticulous attention, time management, and a hands-on approach to rebuild engines, diagnose complex systems, and perform preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• 5 years of fleet experience in Diesel, heavy/medium-duty fleets.
• 5+ years auto/truck or bus mechanical repair experience.
• Experience with DOT compliance for med/heavy trucks.
• Computer proficiency for fleet management systems.
• Possess the recommended minimum hand tools for a Medium and Heavy Duty and Diesel Technician.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs including steering, electrical, braking, drivetrains, suspensions and transmissions.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and complete unscheduled repairs as needed.
• Record time spent, parts used and repairs via work tablet or forms; conduct test drives to verify repairs.
• Install, program, replace and verify telematics devices.
