Job summary

Prairie Field Services in Utah seeks a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic to perform preventative maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and trailers, diagnose issues, and complete minor repairs. You will maintain accurate records and inspections, ensuring safety standards are met.

Work closely with operations to maximize fleet uptime in a safety‑focused environment. CDL preferred but not required; pre-employment drug screen and background check may apply.

Qualifications

• Experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic preferred.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance for Class A tractors and trailers.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Complete oil changes, lubrication, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
• Inspect brakes, tires, lights, suspension, and other vehicle components.
• Identify mechanical issues before they become major repairs.
• Perform minor mechanical repairs as needed.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and inspection reports.
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Work closely with operations to maximize fleet uptime.
