Job Title: Fleet Deckhand – Wickliffe, KY
This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
Position Summary:
- ADM is seeking a laborer to work as a deckhand under the direction of a Captain on a tug boat at our American River Transportation Company (ARTCo) fleeting location in Wickliffe, KY.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform general housekeeping and vessel upkeep, including washing, chipping, painting, and cleaning.
- Assist with tow work, including building rigging and building tow for Lineboats.
- Prepare barges for delivery to local customers as part of fleet work.
- Support barge cleaners, mechanics, and welders as needed.
- Help the captain with vessel reports, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and USCG regulations; report any issues or damages.
- Report injuries, illnesses, and near misses promptly.
- Perform additional duties as required or requested.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks under supervision.
- Inland waterway decking experience is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in reading and writing to handle documentation.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capability to work in all climates.

- Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC); if not, apply within 5 days of hire.
Physical Requirements:
- Pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and physical ability test.
- Stand for long periods.
- Lift heavy objects frequently.
- Perform kneeling, bending, and climbing stairs/ladders regularly.
- Work near water, at heights, and in confined spaces.
Background checks are required for employment.
Pay is estimated between $258/day, with overtime pay applicable for qualifying hours.
