Job summary

TCI Maintenance in Fontana, CA is hiring a Body Shop Technician 1 to support minor truck and trailer repairs in our busy fleet shop. Shift is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm; pay $22 - $30.00 depending on experience.

The Technician Body Shop Level 1 will, under supervision, perform minor truck and trailer component repair or replacement. Assist Technician 3 and 4 in removing, replacing, and repairing major components.

Qualifications

• Body Shop Technician 2-5 years of experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational/technical school preferred.
• Specialized training in repair/refinish of truck/trailer preferred.
• Experience using welding, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools preferred/not required.
• Valid Driver's license required; CDL with brake endorsements preferred or obtainable.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Understand procedures and repairs such as Cab/Sheet Metal Repair.
• Use PPE required for job.
• Teardown / inspect vehicle and list parts needed to complete repairs.
• Composite Repair/Bonding.
• Basic mechanical repairs for collision related parts.
• Sheet metal body work and fillers knowledge.
• Surface preparation.
• Fiberglass repair and box repair/refinishing.
• Painting/mixing/tinting/blending.
• Operate TCi-owned vehicles safely for testing and troubleshooting.
• Follow supervisor instructions and perform other duties as assigned.
